Germán Piccioni

full-stack dev · Berlin, Germany

This is the plain-text version of germánOS, a portfolio built as a retro Windows-95-style desktop that needs JavaScript to run. Everything below is the same information.

I'm Germán Piccioni, a full-stack and web developer based in Berlin, Germany. I build things for the web: my job is to make them look right, feel right, work right, and ship. The technology is whatever it needs to be.

My usual stack, but not a constraint: React and TypeScript on the front, Node or Next.js behind it. I care about the details most people wouldn't notice: the edge cases, the state nobody planned for, the one pixel that sits wrong.

I work with AI coding tools daily, Claude Code most of all. It has changed what I spend my time on: less syntax, more deciding what gets built, how it should behave, and whether the result is actually good. I still own every call and every pixel.

Recent work: web apps, offline-capable event tools, AI-driven products, and this site itself. The projects below have more details.

Projects

  1. ownlineupIN USE

a festival timetable that still works when the signal doesn't

A festival timetable that keeps working when the signal drops: live updates when you're online, a full offline copy when you're not. Organizers edit the lineup themselves, and everyone gets a heads-up when it changes. Built for one real festival, now a white-label product for event organizers.

  2. daniel murtaghLIVE

a photography portfolio that gets out of the way of the photographs

A photography portfolio for Daniel Murtagh, a fine art and editorial photographer working between New York and Berlin. An image-first site where the work carries the page, plus a custom admin that lets him run the whole thing himself. Built in Next.js on Cloudflare.

  3. conjureIN DEV

describe a world, then step inside it

Describe a world in one sentence and step inside it. An AI text RPG with a CRT / holodeck look: an AI game master builds the world and the whole site re-themes to match the story. A real game with real rules, not a chatbot.

  4. standup-podIN DEV

a standup bot that bends on when, never on whether

A Telegram accountability bot for a two-person pod with an AI facilitator. Flexible about when a standup happens, rigid about whether. Every missed path ends in a smaller ask, never in accumulated guilt. No streaks, no backlog.

  5. germán-osLIVE

the site you're on, pretending to be an operating system

This portfolio. A fake retro OS that boots to a desktop inspired by Windows 95: draggable windows, a working media player loaded with my own tracks, and a fake MS-DOS prompt with real commands and easter eggs.

  6. wamfLIVE

pull exactly the media you want out of a whatsapp export

Drop in a WhatsApp chat export, filter by sender and date, and download exactly the photos and videos you wanted. Runs entirely in the browser. Nothing uploads, nothing leaves your device.
